We all have sounds, images, and other sensory input floating in our heads from a life time of collecting, both active and passive. This is the music of our being, our character, personality. This coalescence of our life’s journey is the mortar that binds our notions, ideals, concepts, and philosophies into a valuable and coherent being.
When we come in contact with others, this archived cornucopia of sensations allows us to convey desires, express thoughts, relate our position to the cultural center and levers us into the moment. It permits a human intercourse augmented and enhanced by the resonance of another. This music of the mind is our most treasured possession, emblematic of who we are, and how valuable we are to each other’s existence, fulfillment, and collective achievement.
At some point in life, it seems our personal music can become stale, archaic, and remote. We seem to register new notes, chords, songs, and symphonies but fail to address ourselves to their richness and beauty. Like the stunning face in the crowd we no longer see, the heroism of a random achievement we don’t recognize, or the joy in another’s success we refuse to acknowledge, we no longer incorporate it into the self-creative process. We ossify, harden, entrench and become an artifact of this musical potential instead of creating yet another harmony. We should not allow a dissidence and discord founded in stubbornness, longevity, or conceit to give false color to human concord.
Within you is an interpretive engine defining reality as no one else can. The unique constituents that comprise your being and married to your experiences, operate as an orchestra of the intellect. Together, through amalgamation of personal cognitive journeys and shared experiences, we can create a continuous symphony broadening human capacity, intelligence and achievement. The individual musical strains swirling and whirling in our minds are lovely, yet in the end they are but one composer, one orchestra. United, our personal music is a tour de force.

Thanks for posting, Keith!
Hush! There is nothing I see in my friend that is inadequate.
Music speaks to each of us in such different yet equally beautiful ways. Great post sir!
And I think sometimes, if you feel low or angry you DO miss the music in others and the beauty around including within yourself. Thankfully, I generally feel, hear, see and sense the music in most things. And do you know what Dean ( AKA Byron) I see it in you a plenty.

Dean, this is so stunning in its eloquence! We do tend to “tune out” a bit with time and age. How much sweeter life is when we really “tune in”. Happy New Year to you and yours!
